We believe in dedicating our children to the Lord. It is a recognition that the life of your child is a gift from God (Psalm 127:3) and an acknowledgement that their lives rightfully belong to God. The dedication of children is taught in the Bible. As a baby, Jesus was dedicated by his parents (Luke 2:22-35). It truly is an act of worship. That is something we do in service where your little ones would be prayed for... by our Children’s Pastor (as well as the congregation) and you would be given the charge to raise up your little one in the way of the Lord. It's a really sweet ceremony and something you could invite your family and friends to.

Water baptism is a public expression of an inward decision to follow Christ. At WOL, we believe in baptism by full submersion, based on the example of Jesus in the Bible. We're honored to see God working in the lives of those in our church & celebrate with each person who says YES to this next step in their faith journey.

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4 NIV

What: First Serves are an easy, “no strings attached” way to explore areas of service while helping you to discover your interests, passions, and how you fit into the Word of Life community. It will allow you to serve one time in a specific ministry and then evaluate your thoughts on the experience. Nor the right fit? Try a first serve in another ministry!

Why: “Involved in ministry” is one of our core values. We believe everyone should be service! Jesus modeled this example to us and, beyond that, serving others will bring YOU incredible joy!

Who: Anyone who is a Christ-follower in attendance at Word of Life can do a first serve.

Teen MOPS is a Ministry of WOL that is dedicated to serving homeless teen moms at the Salvation Army and the Syr. City school district. Our goal is to provide practical support while extending the love of Christ.

We rely on donations for Study Bibles, food for our meetings and diapers/wipes & hygiene products for our MOPS shop. Our greatest need currently are size 5/6 diapers, Clorox wipes and laundry soap!
